H. MOSER & CIE. SETTING THE STAGE IN BASEL

In Basel for 2014 H. Moser & Cie. unveils a new showcase for its latest pieces, at the heart of a completely redesigned space. A veritable ode to the brand, this new lounge highlights the values intrinsic to H. Moser & Cie. and features its new visual codes.

Using shades of grey, black and brown, the palette of H. Moser & Cie. colours blends harmoniously in the choice of furnishings, decorative elements and showcases, that include hints of apple green, the brand's signature colour. The materials chosen by the designers of this space, Creative Circle International, perfectly combine these colours, with glass, brushed metal and wood alternating in understated and elegant structures and textures. For Edouard Meylan, CEO of H. Moser & Cie., "Creative Circle International has been able to successfully express the brand's philosophy through this design, taking in its historic origins and the spirit of its three key values: our entrepreneurial heritage, our ingenious products and that H. Moser & Cie. manufactures in-house". The metal and wood in the structures evoke the skill of the watchmaker's craft at H. Moser & Cie. The central wall, which provides a focal point, is a modern reinterpretation of the famous master watchmaker's "layette" and workbench. Made from a combination of wood and glass, the drawers seem to float in the air, held in place by narrow aluminium cylinders, symbolising the bold entrepreneurial spirit the brand has exhibited since its inception. Arranged on this wall are elements that represent the watchmaker's expertise, cultivated by H. Moser & Cie., which is clearly evident in the calibres developed and produced entirely in-house by the Manufacture. H. Moser & Cie. boasts 7 movements in its collection, including the addition this year of a completely new calibre. As for the spirit behind the ingenious products, this is underlined by the ethereal glass structure and by the H. Moser & Cie. creations displayed in the lounge's showcases, the design of which reflects the same inspiration as the central wall.

 

VERY RARE: H. Moser & Cie. is an exclusive brand, rare in terms of both its production and the unique combination of its values. Creative Circle International aimed to emphasise this rarity through the display and celebration of exceptional objects from the Manufacture. Next to the H. Moser & Cie. Perpetual Calendar, fine fabrics nestle alongside blown glass vases. The historic, traditional character of the brand is symbolised by the company's hallmark, the motif of which is echoed in the metal partition structures which punctuate the space, and by the support from the Moser family museum for the event. In a nod to this transmission of heritage, the furnishings were created by Walter Knoll, the well-known firm founded in 1865, whose iconic pieces lend a warm, intimate ambiance to the lounge.
